More rain forecast for central Qld

Thursday October 16, 2008 - 11:09 EDT

The weather bureau says central Queensland can expect more rain and thunderstorms over the next day or so.

Many parts of the Dawson-Callide had falls of more than 20 millimetres last night.

Forecaster Don Whitford says a south-easterly surge is moving up the coast.

"Still south of Hervey Bay at the moment, but it will push up through tomorrow as well, so more showers along the coast and today with this upper trough lingering around, as well we can expect to see a thunderstorm to develop inland as far west as Emerald and quite well to the north as well," he said.
