Storms and heavy rain have caused problems, keeping State Emergency Service crews busy overnight.

They responded to 30 call-outs in three hours as the front hit Adelaide's northern suburbs and parts of Yorke Peninsula.

Hail blocked gutters and some houses flooded.

The Barrier Highway near Manoora turned into a river and had to be closed until the water subsided.

There was good rainfall across most of South Australia with another 19 millimetres at Kadina, 17 at Keith and 29 millimetres at Cleve on Eyre Peninsula.

For the long weekend, Adelaide has had about 15 millimetres of rain.
