Mildura student taken to hospital after being hit by lightningFriday September 13, 2013 - 12:21 EST
A 16-year-old girl has escaped serious injury after a suspected lightning strike in north-western Victoria.
Ambulance crews were called to Irymple Secondary College near Mildura, at 9:00am (AEST) after the girl felt a jolt through her hand while holding an umbrella.
She was taken to the Mildura Base Hospital with sore arms but no other serious injuries.
