Melbourne set to chill in coldest night in years

Tonight is looking chilly in Melbourne, potentially the city's coldest night in several years, according to weatherzone.com.au.
If the forecast overnight minimum of two degrees is precise, it will make it the city's equal coldest night in eight years.
Frost is likely in the outskirts, including some suburbs early in the morning. Both Tullamarine and Yarra Glen are amongst the most likely areas to dip below freezing.
"A high pressure system is rapidly clearing skies and causing winds to become light in the wake of a cold front. This front delivered cold air to the city late on Monday," Weatherzone meteorologist Brett Dutschke said.
It will be an even colder night over inland Victoria with sub-zero temperatures possible in all districts. This has prompted a frost warning. Temperatures as low as minus two degrees can cause significant crop damage.
"Together with the cold is the threat of fog, which may get thick enough early in the morning to disrupt travel," Dutschke said.
