Hundreds still without power after winds

Friday August 24, 2012 - 11:59 EST

Crews will work into the afternoon to restore power to over 700 homes still without power after last night's wild weather.

Homes in Sydney's north and western suburbs including Lindfield, Thornleigh, Emu Plains and the Hawkesbury are affected.

At the height of yesterday's storm there were over 12,000 homes without power.

The wild winds interrupted train services and traffic yesterday evening.

A crane also had to be used at Roselands in Sydney's south-west after a tree fell onto a two storey home.
