Heat set to return to southern Australia
Matt Pearce

After a respite from the fierce heat during the first half of November, southern Australia is set to swelter again next week.
The heat will commence over southern WA on Sunday and Monday, where temperatures will soar into the high 30s and low 40s. Perth is expecting a top of 39 degrees on Sunday before a late milder change results in a cooler top of 33 on Monday.
The heat will then contract east into South Australia on Tuesday, where temperatures will also rise into the high 30s and low 40s. Adelaide will miss out on the worst of the heat on Tuesday, hitting a top of 35 degrees.
On Wednesday, a cooler change will reach South Australia late in the day. Ahead of this change, northerly winds will strengthen, resulting in widespread low-40s temperatures and dangerous fire conditions. Adelaide can expect a top of 39 degrees, depending on the timing of the change. The heat will also spread across Victoria, Tasmania and western NSW on Wednesday. Hobart is expecting a top of 31 and Melbourne 34.
The change will reach Victoria on Thursday, but not before another hot day envelopes that state. Melbourne is expecting a top of 35 degrees. The heat will also reach eastern NSW on Thursday.
