Tasmania's fruit growers have had a lucky escape from major frost damage.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a statewide severe frost warning overnight, urging Tasmania growers to prepare for widespread damage.
But Sheralee Davies of Wine Industry Tasmania says any damage that did occur would be minimal.
"I have spoken with a few growers particularly from the Coal River Valley and the Derwent Valley which were areas that were going to be most impacted there," she said.
"We're early in the season, which is fortunate for wine growers in that we're not actually in the stage of bud burst which is quite a delicate time in the growing season.
"We're actually not seeing there's any real impact of the frost overnight."
But fruit growers have been warned there could be more frosts.
Weather Bureau forecaster Vicki Lucas says some areas will see more cold weather tonight.
"Tonight there may be one or two places that go below but there won't be a widespread frost tonight just isolated frost patches," she said.
"After that, particularly in September, it's going to be a lot less windy so a lot less likely that there's going to be frost."
