Frigid mornings set in across NSW and Queensland
Matt Pearce

In what has become a commonplace occurrence during recent weeks, temperatures plunged below freezing once again on Friday morning across northern New South Wales and southern Queensland.
Coolangatta dropped down to just 0.6 degrees, its coldest morning in 18 years of records. This was 10 degrees below the average for this time of year.
Texas, Charleville, Mitchell, Inglewood and Roma all dropped below 0 degrees this morning.
Over the border in New South Wales, Murwillumbah had a chilly minimum of minus one degree, its coldest morning for any month in 32 years of records.
The cold mornings have been the result of a persistent ridge of high pressure, leading to clear skies, light winds and extremely low humidity - a perfect combination for low minimum temperatures.
The cold, frosty mornings are set to continue for much of the next week as the ridge remains firmly in place.
