Foggy and frosty eastern states

Foggy and frosty eastern states
Eastern parts of Australia have been shrouded in fog and frost this morning. Fog affected locations across the country including Brisbane, Sydney's western suburbs as well as inland parts of NSW and VIC. Frost was limited to further inland, elevated parts of the country with NSW and northern VIC being affected. For western parts of Brisbane, fog reduced visibility down to 250m around sunrise. The fog didn't clear until after 7:30am. For western parts of Sydney, fog was reducing visibility down to 150m with it still lingering at Richmond at 9:30am. Further west at Dubbo and Cobar visibility got as low as 150m with fog not clearing until after 9:30am. Frost accompanied the fog making it a good morning to stay rugged up in bed. Northern parts of Victoria and southern parts of NSW got amongst the fog and frost action as well. Wangaratta, Wagga Wagga, Cooma and Canberra were all affected by frost as the temperature dropped overnight. Fog lingered until 8am with visibility dropping as low as 150m at Wangaratta, 100m at Wagga Wagga and 300m at Albury. This widespread fog and frost across eastern parts of the nation was a result of light winds and lingering moisture under a broad and stable belt of high pressure. This high pressure system is set to remain over the eastern parts of the country bringing the risk of more fog and frost. On Tuesday, a low pressure trough will bring showers and the chance of some thunderstorms over western QLD and northwestern NSW bringing an end to foggy conditions.
