The Maranoa Mayor says more financial relief is available for flood victims.
More than 600 homes were inundated in Mitchell and Roma in February.
Robert Loughnan says the council has decided to halve water bills for residents who had to clean their homes after the flood.
"Waiving the water charges - obviously many of our ratepayers have abnormal water usage due to the floods, hosing out the houses and getting those sorts of issues going and it's something that you don't give much thought to at the time," he said.
Councillor Loughnan says the discount is only fair considering the amount of water that would have been used during the flood clean-up.
"It certainly came up a couple of years ago that we needed to look after people who receive these abnormal water charges, so we have come up with an offer to ratepayers who come up with bills that are out of whack," he said.
