Fire danger to spike in SA on Sunday
Fire danger is set to spike across South Australia during Sunday as northwesterly winds heat up, speed up and dry out.
Recent rain has not been enough to stop fire danger ratings reaching Severe and Extreme over parts of the inland, particularly the north.
Temperatures reaching thirties, humidity dropping below 10 percent and wind gusts exceeding 60km/h will affect parts of Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Murraylands, Riverland and the pastorals.
Fire danger will be relatively low in western and southern parts of the state due to receiving heavier rain recently and a cooler change arriving earlier in the day.
This change will reduce the fire danger in the north during the afternoon and evening by dropping temperatures by about 15 degrees. However, the cooler winds will still be strong, gusty and dry enough to pose some problems if a fire has taken hold.
Showers will only develop a few hours after the change has gone through and only fall in the south of the state. Showers may be thundery and contain small hail, most likely in the southeast, on Monday.
