Father's Day national outlook

Father's Day national outlook
It's come the time of the year to celebrate our Dads and everything they have done for us. The first Sunday of September will be upon us this weekend and conditions are generally looking mild with a moderate threat of light showers for most capital cities. A cold front will be making its way across the Great Australian Bight, while an associated trough will be directing a band of high cloud across inland areas and towards the east coast. Sydney can expect a mostly cloudy day with a maximum temperature of 19 degrees. There is a moderate risk of showers, most likely in the morning, so breakfast in bed might be the best option. These showers should remain fairly light however generally delivering less than 5mm across the Basin. Melbourne has a similar outlook with temperatures reaching a mild 17 degrees. A few showers are likely to develop in the afternoon so the morning holds the best opportunity to get out and about and spoil your old man. The nation's capital will see a generally cloudy day with the temperature maxing out at 16 degrees. Fortunately the outlook remains dry with light variable winds. Father's Day will remain dry and mild for Hobart with the mercury rising to around 15 degrees. Most of the rainfall with an approaching front is likely to to be confined over western parts of the state. Back on the mainland, conditions are going to deteriorate pretty quickly in the afternoon for Adelaide as the cold front moves over. Showers have the potential to deliver 5-10mm as the gusty cool change moves through. Either make the most of the morning, or have a wet weather contingency up your sleeve. Perth will remain relatively pleasant in comparison to the east coast with dry and mild conditions. The day should warm up to around 18 degrees under partly cloudy skies and light southwesterly breezes. Typically for this time of the year, Darwin will see nothing but sun and nice warm temperatures of 33 degrees. Last but not least, Brisbane will have a few clouds lingering throughout the day, which will threaten a few light isolated showers in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 24 degrees. Happy Father's Day!
