Farmers hope for more rain

New South Wales may be experiencing its lowest drought figures in four years, but people are being urged not to forget about the landholders who are still suffering hardships.
Currently just under 40 per cent of the state is drought declared, a significant improvement since January when 81 per cent of the state was affected.
Coombah Station, south of Broken Hill, lies within the drought classified area of the western region.
Owner Andy McLeod says the recent rains have helped but he would still like more.
"It doesn't look too bad here, it's nice and green," he said.
"We probably had about three inches of rain last month in total over four rains.
"But if we don't get another rain in the next three to four weeks, like a reasonable rain, it'd probably get a bit dry again.
"But we caught a fair bit of water and that [is] in most of our dams, so in that respects we're pretty right."
