There will be a long-awaited home coming this week for a group of elderly residents displaced by last summer's floods in southern Queensland.
The 20 residents were flown from St George to various nursing homes on the Gold Coast in February.
Marie Wippell, 93, says she is looking forward to seeing relatives again - but has mixed feelings about leaving her temporary home.
"It was an added bonus to come to the Gold Coast this time,' she said.
"In seven months you begin to think of this place as home and you get very fond of the carers and nurses.
"Actually I am beginning to think I might come back here for respite."
