Dangerous surf warning for long weekendFriday January 25, 2013 - 14:55 EDT
Newcastle Council has issued a dangerous surf alert for the long weekend.
Local lifeguards are expecting large seas from tomorrow, and they say strong winds will create dangerous surf conditions along the city's beaches.
They say rock fisherman in particular should exercise caution.
Council is urging people to obey all the warning signs, as well as any direction from lifeguards.
