Cold but sunny breaks in Adelaide

Rob Sharpe, Sunday July 29, 2012 - 12:45 EST

Adelaide's cold run of days is set to continue, but at least the sun will break through the clouds.

Today will be another cold one for Adelaide with a forecast top of 15 degrees, right on the July average. The sun will break through today, but cloud cover will keep the mercury closer to 13 degrees for much of the day. A couple of showers will also move through the area, but these will be brief and light.

The start of the working week will tell a similar story with cold days and chilly nights. Clouds will come and go through the week allowing bursts of sunshine. Wednesday will be a mostly sunny day after the coldest morning of the week. Wednesday will drop to four degrees due to the clearer skies and light northeasterly winds.

On Thursday clouds will dominate the sky ahead of a cold front that will arrive early Friday morning. This front will bring a fresh burst of showers and cold air that will keep the temperature near the July average, despite the slightly warmer month of August beginning.

Adelaide will probably have to wait until at least Tuesday 7th August before a day reaches the August average of 17 degrees.
