Burst of late storms for Brisbane

Alex Krisman, Wednesday December 3, 2008 - 20:35 EDT

Damaging winds and large hail are a good chance for Brisbane and nearby regions Wednesday night as storms begin to pop up late in the day. As of 8:00pm, there exists a series of storms cells rolling down to the coast from the west.

These storms are bringing bursts of heavy showers as they move down the ranges, with Ipswich collecting 16mm in under an hour. Although wind gusts and large hail are likely, flash flooding is less probable as the storms are moving quite rapidly.

Only time will tell as to the extent of the severity of these storms, the next few hours will be critical.
