Big week for the weather record books
Matthew Perrett

It has been a big week for the weather record books in Queensland, with numerous long term records being broken across the state.
Last night Injune in the Maranoa had its warmest November night on record with a low of 26 degrees, 10 above the November average and its warmest night of any month in 3 years. Warwick in the Darling Downs also had its warmest night on record with 22.8 degrees, 9 above the November average
Other places around Queensland to break November heat records this week were Coconut Island, Mt Isa, Bedourie, St george, and Windorah.
However, it was not all sizzling heat this week with Thargomindah, in the Channel Country, reviving its coldest November day on record on Monday. A relatively chilly 19.5 degrees, 14 below their November average and two degrees below the average November minimum!
This came as a welcome relief as Thargomindah had only recently broken its record for their warmest November night with a minimum 32.8 degrees, 12 degrees above average.
