Bega shivers as temperature plunges overnight

Record low temperatures for the year are being recorded in the New South Wales south east this morning.

The Weather Bureau says there are severe frosts across the region but temperatures should begin to rise shortly.

More frosts are expected over the weekend.

Forecaster Sean Carson says one town on the far south coast is feeling the brunt of the cold snap.

â??It is the coldest morning in Bega at least this winter,â?? he said.

â??It is currently sitting on minus 2.4 and sure plenty of other centres will be doing the same.

â??If you look closely you might even find a bit of frost on the beaches this morning it is so cold along the coast.

â??The Monaro, it is not real warm there either; minus eight at Cooma, minus five at Bombala.

â??The Mountains got down to minus seven overnight and currently sitting on minus three.â??
