Automatic weather stations installed in Wheatbelt

Tuesday July 22, 2008 - 11:12 EST

The Department of Agriculture has expanded its coverage of Wheatbelt rainfall by installing automatic weather stations in Binnu and Morawa.

The department now has 23 stations across the state that provide minute-by-minute data to its website.

The unmanned stations are able to measure a range of climatic conditions, including evaporation and the duration of chills.
