Another bout of wet weather for parts of the Pilbara

Another bout of wet weather for parts of the Pilbara
Western parts of the Pilbara are in for another wet spell over the coming days. A low pressure trough, combined with moisture from the tropics, will cause rain to develop over the region later on Monday and into Tuesday. Models are still a bit uncertain about the rainfall distribution, but at this stage anywhere west from Onslow could pick up anywhere between 10 and 60mm. Onslow itself is already experiencing its wettest June since 2013, recording 97.2mm so far, due to a deluge earlier this month. If more than 21.2mm is collected at the Onslow site, it would make June 2018 the wettest since 1973, and another 47.2mm or more would make it the wettest June since 1951. This rainfall will help to alleviate the serious-to-severe 14 month rainfall deficiencies that have been reported in the area.
