Adelaide's cold August run

Sam Terry
After another day of low cloud and chilly west to southwesterly winds, Adelaide has only reached a maximum of about 14 degrees. Almost every day this August in Adelaide has been below the average of 16.6 degrees except for the first Sunday, on which the maximum reached 18.1. The average maximum temperature for the first 12 days of this month is 13.9, with today's maximum potentially falling below that. If the average of today and tomorrow falls below 13.75 then it could be Adelaide's coldest August fortnight in 30 years. At this stage it seems likely that this could happen. The forecast for Adelaide tomorrow is 14 degrees.
