Adelaide set to chill again
Willemien Phelan

Adelaide's cool weekend weather will be followed by another burst of cold air by midweek.
A strong cold front is expected to hit the city on Wednesday. Extensive cloud cover ahead of the front, showers and strong winds will all contribute to a more winter-like feel to the working week.
It will be the first time in the space of two weeks that a cold front will be strong enough to break up a dominant high pressure system. So far this high has been forcing cold fronts to slip south, allowing for only weak cool changes.
The front is expected to bring scattered falls of 5-10mm to the Northern Agricultural areas on Wednesday and Thursday, not quite the soaking some have been hoping for. The coastal fringes may see slightly heavier falls on Wednesday, with up to 15mm over the southeast coastal regions.
Thursday and Friday will be chilly, with daytime maxima likely to struggle to reach 15 degrees, which is well below the average of 19 degrees for May and potentially the coldest since September. Fresh to strong southerly winds will add an additional wind chill factor on these days, so make sure the winter thermals are close at hand.
On Saturday, strong southerly winds in the wake of the front are expected to continue the wet and chilly trend into the weekend.
