ACT pummeled by storms
Dark and ominous clouds developed over southern parts of the ACT yesterday afternoon amid a deep and unstable low pressure trough.
Slow moving storms initially developed over southern parts of the ACT among multiple other districts over southern and central NSW.
The storms over the nation's capital were particularly severe however, with detailed thunderstorm warnings alerting for large hail, heavy rain and destructive wind gusts.
Impressive images of cloud formations, golf ball sized hail and property damage have been circulating the internet following these storms.
A second round of thunderstorms have since fired up this afternoon, although the greatest area of instability is situated to the east of the ACT. As these cells continue to develop throughout the day, residents should take the appropriate measures to prepare for heavy rainfall, large hail and gusty winds.
