A look to the weeks snow potential

A look to the weeks snow potential
Blue skies reign over Australia's southeast at the moment, but will we see more snow soon? It's been a beautiful weekend on the slopes with mostly clear blue skies and some pretty wintry temperatures, but when is snow expected to fall again over the Australia's ski resorts? With high pressure remaining over the southeast to start the working week it will be more of the same with further glorious blue skies and temperatures cooling a touch more. The first signs of snow come as a low pressure trough develops about Wednesday. However, with this moisture coming down from the north, rather than the colder south, rain could be intermixed with this as well, with any snow only amounting to about 2cm or less. The next best chance comes next weekend as a cold front arrives, bringing further moisture and a much colder airmass with it. At this stage there is some disagreement with models and at a week out there is plenty of scope for things to change, so keep checking back for further updates. In the meantime, wrap up warm and enjoy the cool and sunny conditions.
