A severe weather warning has been issued for Sydney and parts of the NSW Central Coast, with heavy rainfall and strong winds expected to hit during this afternoon's peak hour.
After receiving record-breaking rain in June and July, parts of western Queensland have received their best August rain in nearly 20 years.
